![]() "Mamo-chan! How long? Why is your blood black." In Manga volume 13, Mamoru falls unconcious, coughing up black blood, and the history unfolds. Mamo-chan, too, is slowly being posioned - his lungs have a black shadow. He contacts Mamoru through a mirror and tells him to find the Golden Crystal and apologizes for not protecting Mamoru. Elysion's priest, Elios has also been poisoned and turned in a pegasus. In this volume the evil villain Queen Neherenia has cast a curse upon Elysion, all of it has become black and dying. He is not only the Crown Prince of Earth but heir to the Golden Kingdom. If Elysion/Golden Kingdom is a lost world and its dealings with the Moon Kingdom are hidden from and completely separate from the mundane histories of the mundane surface world, the Silver Millennium being a thousand years ago would not contradict recorded history. In Manga Volume 12, we begin to learn more about Mamoru's background as Prince. If Elysion, if Darien/Endymion's kingdom is a hidden kingdom, however, he and his family (in the DiC sub continuity only) could indeed have ruled one thousand years ago. That's not tenable as the mundane aspects of SM seem to match the mundane aspects of the real world it would have to completely rewrite the history books. part of the reason I never interpreted "a thousand years ago." literally was because for Prince Darien/Endymion to be Prince of the Earth in the 990s. The narrator in DiC's episode one phrased it like "once upon a time" so I always interpreted it as just being a long time ago.* I had no problem with the phrase itself though as it balanced with Crystal Tokyo being a thousand years from now.Īs to the Golden Kingdom and Elysion. That does't mean I take everything DiC/Optimum did at face value.Īs for the phrase "A thousand years ago." I never interpreted it literally. For example, its clear that the Negaverse is something very different from the Dark Kingdom. ![]() Well I guess I should explain myself better.įor the most part, I choose to see DiC as an adaptation with its ow sub-canon. Heck, if that's the case, the Silver Millenium really could have happened one thousand years ago! So Earth in SM is hollow and inside some vast cavern is a magical land? (Oh the potential for stories!) Yeah, maybe is suffered terribly from Nehelania's attack but it survived and is recovering even now, an entire land that still recognizes Endymion as the true prince of Earth? (This has interesting ramifications for the world of Crystal Tokyo.) They let the surface dwellers go about their way but on hearing that their son Endymion was reincarnated, they came up to the surface and began looking for him. (Manga never said Beryl destroyed the Earth kingdom.) The King and Queen of Elysion were always there. it says that Elysion existed the entire time. It says the events of the Silver Millennium happened "more than a thousand years ago" so its not wrong either way in its ambiguity. I stumbled across a fanfic that had an interesting premise. I don't recall from history classes say King Richard the Lionheart of England saying "oh by the way, I take orders from Endymion's family." So, DiC's claim of the Silver Millennium being a thousand years ago need not be taken literally. I previously thought that the Golden Kingdom of Earth was surface only (because of course) and that it had to have existed before recorded history. During the time of the Silver Millennium, Helios remained in Elysion after Prince Endymion left for the surface of Earth. The SM wiki had this to say.Įlysion is the heart of the Earth and is located deep inside of it. When I first saw the CWI's dub of season 4/dream arc, I thought Elysion was some extra-dimensional dream realm, like Little Nemo's Slumberland.
